Things You'll Need:
- long strip of leather
- scissors
- large beads
- two large crimp beads that have hoops on the end
- 2 jump rings
- chain
- large claw clamp
- needle nose pliers
- tape measure
-
Step 1
Measure your neck to make sure that the choker will not be too tight or too loose. Once measured, give yourself a little extra on both sides to attach the clasp and chain. Cut your leather to the determined length that you want your choker.
-
Step 2
On one side of the leather, take a large crimp bead and twisting or folding the leather, fit inside the bead. Now with the needle nose pliers, clamp the bead in the pliers and smash the bead onto the leather. Make sure that it is secure and tight. Now with the chain, attach the jump ring to the hoop on the crimp bead. You will need the needle nose pliers to open the jump ring on the end of the chain and then to clamp the jump ring to close it back up around the crimp bead hoop.
-
Step 3
Slide your beads on, depending on how many you want on the choker. I prefer 2 or 3, so that the leather can still be seen. However, you can add as many as you like.
-
Step 4
Once the beads have been added, you will attach a crimp bead to the other side of the leather in the same way. Using a jump ring, attach it to the hoop on the crimp bead and also slide the claw clamp on, before closing the jump ring.
-
Step 5
You've made your leather choker and it is adjustable also. You can connect the claw clamp wherever you like on the chain.
