One of the best parts about pulling those slimy little seeds out of your pumpkin is roasting them and then of course eating them. When done right the seeds will become crispy, salty, and nutty. Roasting pumpkin seeds is really easy, sure you will have to touch the pumpkin slime, but it is surely worth it.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pumpkin seeds
  • water
  • salt
  • cookie sheet
  • colandar
  1. Step 1

Pre heat oven to 375. Scoop all of your seeds out of your pumpkin or pumkins. Place them in to your colandar and give them a really good wash. Try to get all of the slime off of them. Unless you like the slime.

  2. Step 2

Blot the seeds dry with a paper towel. Make sure to get them as dry as you can. Measure them out to see how much you have. this recipe calls for one cup. You will need 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil for each cup of pumpkin seeds. You can mix the vegetable oil right in your mixing cup or pour the seeds in a bowl and then mix them with the oil, then add salt and mix that in. Add as much as you think you will enjoy.

  3. Step 3

Spread the seeds as much as you can on to your cooking sheet. They should be in as much of single layer as you can get them.

  4. Step 4

Bake at 375 until golden brown, this should take between 10 and 15 minutes. Let them cool before eating.

Tips & Warnings
  • Wait until the cool off before you eat them.
  • Make sure to use a collander when washing the seeds, they are really slippery.
  • Wait until the seeds cool off before you eat them.

on 9/26/2009 Pumpkin seeds are the best, but I have to roast them in butter for the extra flavor... been doing it that way since before I could cook on my own
