How to Make Barbecue Ranch Chicken Salad

The combination of tangy honey barbecue sauce and creamy ranch dressing makes a chicken salad that is sweet, savory and delicious. this barbecue ranch chicken salad works well for sandwiches or serve as a spread at your next party.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 lb. boneless chicken breast
  • small red onion
  • 1 cup honey barbecue sauce
  • 1 cup ranch dressing
  • 1/2 cup grated cheddar or swiss cheese
  • 1/4 cup honey roasted nuts
  1. Step 1

    Cut the boneless chicken breasts into strips approximately the size of chicken fingers. Marinate in 1/2 cup honey barbecue sauce and chill for at least one hour.

  2. Step 2

    Lightly coat a skillet with cooking spray and place over high flame. Add the chicken and cook throughout, stirring often, approximately 12-15 minutes.

  3. Step 3

    Pour the cooked chicken into a bowl and allow to cool. Chill in the refrigerator for about an hour.

  4. Step 4

    Dice the sweet red onion and grate 1/2 cup of cheddar or swiss cheese. Set aside.

  5. Step 5

    Chop the chilled chicken and toss with remaining 1/2 cup of barbecue sauce. Stir in the ranch dressing.

  6. Step 6

    Add the onions, cheese and honey roasted nuts. Mix well and serve.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always use honey bbq sauce and honey roasted nuts. The type of nut is your preference, but should be a honey roasted flavor.
  • Cheddar or swiss cheese is best as the savory flavor will complement the sweet honey flavors, but you may experiment with any cheese you desire.
