Looking for a fun and creative Halloween costume? Try going as a Gold Digger! This is a relatively easy costume to put together and still safe enough to wear to work!

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Plastic hard-hat
  • Plastic Shovel
  • Can of Gold Spray Paint
  • Gold clothing of your choice
  • Gold accessories
  1. Step 1

Find a plastic hard-hat. It does not matter what color it is. You should be able to find these in a Halloween-type store relatively inexpensively.

  2. Step 2

Find a plastic shovel. You may need to go to a toy store to find one of these.

  3. Step 3

Spray paint the hard hat and shovel with the gold paint. To do this, use quick strokes of the paint. If you do this outside, make sure it is not windy. You may want to use an old sheet or drop cloth to protect the surface underneath you. The paint will dry fairly quickly so that you can rotate the items and get all sides painted.

  4. Step 4

Find gold clothing. Look at garage sales and thrift stores for cheap buys. The tackier, the better!

  5. Step 5

Find gold accessories. Girls, look for gold shoes at discount shoe stores. Earrings and rings also add a nice touch. Guys, you may want to consider making fake gold teeth. You should also be able to find cheap necklaces at Halloween stores (like the money chain seen in the picture above).
