Healthy Alternative to Pulled Pork - PULLED TURKEY

Do you love pulled pork but don't serve it to your family because it is too high in fat? This is a great alternative. Use Turkey London Broil (boneless turkey breast) instead of the pork. It is lower in fat, but just as delicious. It is super easy to do using your slow cooker. Some barbecue sauce and a little liquid smoke will make this so delicious, no one will believe that you didn't spend hours barbecuing, and if you don't tell them its turkey, they won't even know!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Turkey London Broil (boneless turkey breast)
  • Barbecue Sauce
  • Liquid Smoke
  • Slow Cooker
  1. Step 1

Put barbecue sauce and liquid smoke into the slow cooker. Place turkey on top of the sauce.

  2. Step 2

Put more sauce on top of the turkey and cook on low for 4 - 8 hours. Check for doneness after 4 hours by pulling some of it apart with a fork. If not shredding easily, cook it for another hour or two. Cooking it more won't hurt it as long as there is enough sauce to cover the meat.

  3. Step 3

Shred the turkey using two forks. Add more sauce as needed to get the consistency you like.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you are available, turn the turkey over every two hours - if you are not available just make sure that the top is covered with sauce.
