Things You'll Need:
- Pirate Spirit
- Buccaneers
-
Step 1
Talk like a pirate. You can't have a pirate adventure on International Pirate Day unless you know the lingo. Its time to start peppering your conversation with words like "Ahoy matey" and "Shiver me timbers!" When in doubt about your pirate vocabulary, remember pirates drop their G's and V's so you can say great phrases like "I ne'er get enough sailin'"
-
Step 2
Convince your landlubber friends to get on board. Its always more fun if you have some buccaneers to talk like a pirate with. Show all the lads and lasses in your life just how to much fun it is to talk like a pirate. They may be shouting "avast, avast" (Stop, stop) at your "Yo Ho Ho's" and "Doubloons" talk, but you can just tell them to get on board your pirate ship and join your pirate adventure... If they still hesitate to become a "Gentlemen o' Fortune (a pirate) for the day, there's always the dreaded "Walk the Plank."
-
Step 3
Throw a pirate party. There are plenty of great ways to host your pirate buccaneers in a great party. You could watch Pirate Themed movies, like Pirates of the Caribbean and Captain Hook, make a pirate shaped cake, and decorate your house with pirate booty from party stores. Hide items around your house (the necklaces that they use for Mardi Gras, and chocolate coins both make excellent "treasure") and make a pirate treasure map for your guests to enjoy. Insist your pirate buccaneers talk like a pirate the entire time, in order to get their Pirate Booty treasure maps.
