You do not need a sewing machine to make a pillow. You will need a needle and thread and round or square filling. You will also need fabric at least 12X12 to sew around the filling to make the pillow.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Step One: Cut two square pieces of fabric to the desired size. The square fabric pieces should be an inch or so larger on all four sides than the square pillow. Select a fabric that does not have stripes or is plaid material. To sew a pillow with patterns, the design must be continuous and will make sewing the pillow more difficult.

  2. Step 2

Step Two: Use the needle and thread with the thread being the dominate color of the fabric. Sew the pillow fabric on the three sides using the insides of the fabric. Leave one side open so you can place the filling inside of the pillow. Do not overstuff the pillow or the sewing may become undone. Also, do not underfill the pillow or the edges of the pillow may be limp.

  3. Step 3

Step Three: After sewing three sides of the pillow in the ā€œUā€ design, turn the fabric back inside out having sewn the pillow on three sides from the inside. Slip the pillow filling and squeeze it inside of the U-Shaped pillow. Cross stitch the remains of the pillow closed. Be sure to place the stitch beginning in a uniform manner so that the outside stitch will look neat.
