How to Make Cornbread Stuffing/ Dressing

Corn bread dressing/Stuffing, just like Mama used to make. If made right it will melt in your mouth. This is for stuffing your turkey plus with what's left over you can put in a bread pan for dressing.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • corn meal mix yellow
  • or corn meal and self rising flour
  • oil
  • eggs
  • water
  • bread pan
  • turkey
  • onions
  • gibbets from turkey
  • celery
  • sage
  • butter
  • salt & pepper
  • chicken broth
  • cast iron skillet
  • if you don't have one just use a bread pan
  • pam spray
  1. Step 1
     

    Depending on how big your turkey is. Make 2 pans of corn bread.

  2. Step 2

    Cut up onions and celery, set aside. Take the gibbets out of the turkey and put in 2qt pot and boil until tender, then chop up, set aside. Simmer the onions and celery in small amount of butter till tender. After the corn bread has cooled down, chop it up and add all the ingredients to it add some broth to moist. Add sage Teaspoon

  3. Step 3
     

    Stuff turkey with as much of the dressing as will go, also add to neck part then pull skin over that and tuck in with the wings bent backward.

  4. Step 4
     

    With what left put in pan add some broth to top. You can wait till the turkey is done before you put the dressing in the oven. Take some broth from under turkey as it cooks and put on top of dressing. Also baste the turkey.

Tips & Warnings
  • Add pats of butter and broth to keep it moist.
  • You can serve cranberry sauce with this.
  • Careful when lifting the turkey from the pan to the plate.
