Tips & Warnings
When filling out the "purpose of your trip" section on your DS-156, state your purpose clearly to avoid falling under the assumption by the reviewer that you will be attempting to immigrate to the United States with your tourist visa. It will expedite your visa processing time and help to eliminate rejections. If you will be spending less than 90 days in the United States, check to see if your country is a participant in the U.S. visa waiver program (see link in Resources).
