Instructions

    • 1

Assemble a three-tiered serving plate or create one. Starting with a large plate on your tabletop, turn a terra cotta pot upside down and set it in the center of the plate. Put the next plate on top of the terra cotta pot, and repeat with the next pot and plate.

    • 2

Prepare the fruit. Leave one pineapple untouched and cut the other into bite-sized chunks after removing the skin. Slice the star fruit into thin slices. Halve the coconuts. Cut the mango. Wash the limes, strawberries and grapes, leaving them intact.

    • 3

Place the whole pineapple in the center of the top-most tier of the serving plate. Aim for symmetry as you arrange the fruits around the lower tiers.

    • 4

Separate and distribute a package of toothpicks inside the coconut halves. Your guests can use the toothpicks to grab a bite to eat from the centerpiece.

    • 5

Alternate shells and tea light candles to surround the whole pineapple on the top tier. Light the candles just before the start of your event.

    • 6

Scatter silk or real flowers on all three levels, according to your preference.

Tips & Warnings

  • Experiment with different fruit combinations, according to your personal preferences.

  • Consider leaving fruit whole if you are using the centerpiece outdoors or at a time when flies or insects are plentiful.
