How to Eat Right for Blood Type B
The Blood Type Diet was created by Dr. Peter D'Adamo, who theorized that compounds found in food (called lectins) react with each blood type differently. Eating foods with lectins that are most compatible with your blood type, he says, will help you avoid illness and generally live a healthy life. All recommended foods in this diet are whole, natural foods--a sharp contrast to the American diet of refined and processed foods. And those with Type B blood are encouraged to eat a wider variety of foods than those with other blood types.
Instructions
-
-
1
Eat seafood, lamb, low-fat dairy products, oats and millet, green vegetables and all kinds of fruits.
-
2
Limit consumption of beef, wheat, buckwheat, rye, lentils, tomatoes, peanuts, sesame seeds and corn. This is especially true for those concerned with gaining weight, as many of these foods slow down the metabolic process.
-
-
3
Avoid chicken, bacon, ham and shellfish entirely. Chicken especially contains an agglutinating lectin in its muscle tissue that may attack the bloodstream of those with Type B blood, increasing the potential for strokes and immune disorders.
-
4
Replace the above foods with highly beneficial foods for Type B's such as goat, lamb, mutton, rabbit and venison.
