There are plenty of ways to study for the SAT, and any eager college junior will likely be exploring many of them. However, the only official SAT study guide is published by College Board, the company that makes the SAT. Ordering the book requires a few simple steps.

• Computer with Internet connection

1. Go to collegeboard.com.

2. Click on the link "Prepare for the SAT." It's in the lower left-hand corner of the page.

3. Find the section of the page labeled, "Official SAT Study Guide," and click on "Buy Now."

4. Click on "Check Out."

5. Complete the shipping and billing information form as well as the shipping options form.

6. Review and confirm your order.

7. Write down your confirmation number in case there is a problem with your order.

• Amazon and other online book vendors sometimes sell the study guide at cheaper prices than College Board. You can often avoid shipping charges by purchasing several books at once from the same vendor.
• If you're not buying the study guide from College Board, make sure you are getting the most recent edition of the book.
