Things You'll Need:
- Two teams of players
- carpet squares
-
Step 1
Start by laying your carpet squares down in a straight row. Make sure there is room in between as there will be people standing on them. You will need a carpet square for each person plus one more. Example: 8 people playing = 9 carpet squares.
-
Step 2
Start splitting up your groups. Lets just use 8 players as the example for this game. 4 players will be on each team. Have the players stand in a line on a carpet square. The empty square should be in the middle.
-
Step 3
Tell the players that the object of the game is to move their teams to the opposite sides. At this time you will also state the rules. 1. Only one person can move at a time. 2. All players must stay in the order they are and there is no cutting in front of another. 3. You may only move around players that are not on your team.

Step 4
As the participants start playing they will see that if they move too fast and don’t think they are going to get into a traffic jam. The trick is the teams must takes turn moving players, one after another. The end result will show the teams on the opposite carpet squares and the first person in the row will now be the last person in the row. This is a great teambuilding game to play with 5th graders and up. If you should have any further questions on this game please let me know!

on 9/23/2009 We need to play this so I can see how it works. It seems like a sermon illustration is in there somewhere! Maybe on Sunday night.
