Yeast infection, also known as candida albicans affects both women and men. There are steps you can take to naturally prevent yeast infection.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

What you eat is probably the most important factor in preventing the yeast infections. Avoid following foods: sugar, refined and processed foods, soft drinks, hydrogenated fats (like Crisco or margarine), alcoholic beverages especially beer and wine (they might contain yeast), non organic dairy products (they might contain antibiotics)
Drink lots of purified water and unsweetened herbal teas. Limit consumption of grains, breads, pasta and starchy foods like patatoes.

  2. Step 2

Include following foods in your diet: fresh limited amounts of fruits due to its sugar content, vegetables, organic eggs, meats, fish (esp. salmon and sardines), nuts,

  3. Step 3

Consider taking the following supplements: probiotics, digestive enzymes, multivitamins and multiminerals, curcumin, iodine, oregano oil, grapefruit seed extract, garlic, olive leaf extract.

  4. Step 4

Expose your skin to sunlight or UV light from tanning booth if sunlight is not available. Exposing your skin for 5 to 20 min of strong sunlight will help to naturally prevent yeast infections by killing some of the yeast. Another benefit of regular sunlight exposure is that UV light produces vitamin D3 in your skin.

  5. Step 5

Take antibiotics only when absolutely necessary. Antibiotics tend to severely reduce population of beneficial bacteria. These bacteria help controling the number of yeast cells and reducing their numbers causes increase in yeast population. If you are taking antibiotics, make sure its followed by strong probiotics supplementation program.

  6. Step 6

Start daily exercise program. Exercising burns off sugar and therefore it removes some of the food supply from yeast cells.

Tips & Warnings
