Things You'll Need:
- Money
- A favorite type and brand of coffee
- A nose
-
Step 1
Choose your favorite brand of coffee. I prefer organic ground coffee, but any bagged coffee will do.
-
Step 2
Choose your favorite type of coffee or coffee bean. There are several types of coffee and mainly range from mild, medium and bold and can come from all over the world. The more types you try, the more favorites you will have. You will probably develop a taste for certain ones, but don't be afraid to try something new. You may want to test out something similar at your local coffee shop so you aren't buying a whole bag of something that you end up not liking.
-
Step 3
Look at the date on the bag. It usually says best until a certain date. If it is nearing that date, look to see if there is a bag with a later expiration date. The stores usually rotate the bags, so try to grab one from the back. Fresh coffee is key to a great cup.
-
Step 4
Usually there will be a place on the front of the bag with a little air hole in it. Put the bag up to your nose and give the bag a squeeze. You may get some strange looks from fellow shoppers, but this is another great step to the ultimate cup of coffee. If the coffee smells good to you and not "burnt" smelling, you've found your bag.
-
Step 5
Pay for it, bring it home and start brewing baby!
