Male cats are very susceptible to UTIs or urinary tract infections, especially if they are indoor cats . It can be expensive to take them to the vet when there is a home remedy that works just as well.
Things You'll Need
- soft cat food
- vitamin C
Begin by splitting a 500 mg tablet of vitamin C in half. You can easily do this with a knife. Once you have accomplished this, crush half of the vitamin C. It crushes very easily.
The next step is to mix the vitamin C with a little water and then dd to a can of soft cat food. Mix well and let kitty eat away.
Offer the cat fresh water daily. Make sure you change it often, at least twice a day. Always rinse the bowl well before refilling it.
Repeat steps for a full two weeks, twice a day. During this time do not let your cat eat dry food. Encourage plenty of water consumption.
Tips & Warnings
- If kitty has the UTI for more than 4 to 5 days and it does not seem like the vitamin C is helping, get him to the vet as it may be a more serious problem.
