Improve Your Toddler Boy's Aim in the Toilet
Improve Your Toddler Boy's Aim in the Toilet

Boys obviously have an extra step in toilet training...Their Aim! It can be frustrating to teach your boy to make it in the toilet and not all over your floor, back of the toilet, and anywhere else in the vicinity of your toilet area! Who wants to get the mop bucket out every single time they pee?
I have a few tips to make it fun & get their attention where it belongs!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cheerios or Fruit Loops
  • Kool-Aid ice cubes
  • Tissues
  1. Step 1

First make some KOOLAID Ice cubes. These are bright and colorful objects. The boys get a kick out of these! You can also use CHEERIOS or FRUIT LOOPS or colored facial TISSUE. The main thing is you have a TARGET.

  2. Step 2

Is your boy not able to reach? Sit him on the toilet backwards...that's how he is going to pee for the rest of his life. Why not start now? This way he can use the back of the toilet to support his weight. His other hand is free to aim.

  3. Step 3

Put a few targets in the toilet...and let your boy do his business and have fun while learning to NOT make a mess! Then put your mop bucket away!

Tips & Warnings
  • Stick to a two hour schedule.
  • Let him pick which target he wants.
  • Don't forget to reward him.
  • If your other male family members need this tip, tell them about it!
  • Make sure your child understands any food items in the toilet are NOT for consumption.
  • Make sure they understand they may not put food in toilet, this is specifically to improve their toileting.

on 11/6/2009 Last part of step 1 and step 3 I used on my two sons plus an extreme amount of praise and letting him know how proud you are goes a long way.
