Step 1
Take a bath as hot as you can comfortable stand. Put fresh sliced ginger in the tub with your bath water. Tie the ginger up in a piece of cheesecloth. Sit in the bathtub for 20 to 30 minutes.
-
Step 2
Drink peppermint tea with honey. Do not use if you are allergic. The peppermint will help to ease your cough and the honey will soothe your throat. Peppermint tea is available at health food stores.
-
Step 3
Gargle with very warm water and dark corn syrup. Add 2 tablespoons of dark corn syrup to a glass of water and gargle 3 to 4 times per day.
-
Step 4
Make a natural cough remedy. In a large measuring cup squeeze one lemon, 2 to 3 tablespoons of honey, 4 whole cloves. ½ teaspoon of cinnamon or 1 whole cinnamon stick. Pour boiling water into the ingredients stir and let it steep for 5 minutes. Strain out the cloves, pour the mixture into a mug and sip. Be sure to breathe in the steam from the cup.
-
Step 5
Brew your own Dill tea. Steep Dill in boiling water or in chicken broth and sip. Use about ¼ of a cup of fresh Dill in ¾ of a cup of liquid to stop a cough from a cold or flu.
