Things You'll Need:
- Fishing line (clear-thick)
- Small colorful pom-poms (all one size or different sizes)
- Craft glue (in a tube-the kind that shows up clear when it dries)
- Sharp instrument, a very large needle
- Thin piece of wood, measured at the door's width
- Stapler, staples
- Small push pins or small nails

Step 1
Go to a craft store, like Hobby Lobby, or even Targer or Walmart. Buy colorful pom-poms. Sometimes you can find ones that are all one size. If you can't, then buy the ones that different sizes, either of them will work for this project.

Step 2
Set them out on a large table, arrange them the way you want them to be strung. You could do every other color of just mix them all up, different colors, different sizes. Or you could even buy extras, and then use all one color for your project, that is up to you.

Step 3
After you have arranged your pom-poms, then get out the large needle, and the fishing line. Make sure that you've bought sturdy fishing line, so that when you thread it through your pom-poms it doesn't break off.

Step 4
Slowly thread your pom-poms, that you've pre-arranged onto your fishing line. Make sure that you have enough fishing line, do NOT cut it until you've measured it up to your door frame. You want enough so that the pom-poms barely touch the ground in front of the door. You can start threading, and then take it up to the door it will hanging in to measure the length you'll need.

Step 5
You can create as many or as little lines of colorful pom-poms that you want. The more you have the better the decoration will look in the door way.

Step 6
Take the thin piece of wood, and make sure that it measures the width of the door way. This will help you to determine how many pom-pom strings you can create, and attach to it for your decoration.

Step 7
Once you're done threading your pom-poms through the right length of string. Then you need to take the craft glue, and put a dab near the top of each pom-pom. That will help so that they don't slip down the string over time. If you've threaded the whole string with pom-poms, then you won't have to do this step.

Step 8
When you're all finished threading your strings of pom-poms, then it's time to attach them to the thin piece of wood. You can do this with either the craft glue or a stapler. If you use a stapler, make sure that you're very careful not to catch your fingers while you're using it. It might be helpful if you could ask another person to hold the string in place while you staple, or you hold string in place while they use the stapler.

Step 9
Once you've completed that step your decoration is already to hang in the doorway. You can just tack it up there with small push pins, or small nails, either one should work. The decoration should be light enough that it should not fall down. Now you have a fun, colorful decoration, that any child would enjoy have hanging in the door to their room. You could hang it in the doorway to their bedroom, or even to their playroom, or go ahead and make two of them if you want.
