How to Remove Hair Spray from a Curling Iron

For women who use curling irons, it sometimes can be a pain when applying hair spray while using the curling iron because you get the residue of the hair spray left stuck on the iron. In this article you will learn a few ways to rid your curling iron of the sticky residue left from hair spray.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Curling Iron
  • Alcohol
  • Cotton Ball
  • SOS pad or steel wool
  1. Step 1

    MAKE SURE YOUR CURLING IRON HAS BEEN OFF FOR AT LEAST AN HOUR AND IS COOL TO THE TOUCH. ALSO MAKE SURE IT IS UNPLUGGED BEFORE DOING THESE STEPS!

  2. Step 2

    After step one is complete take some rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide and wet a cotton ball with it. This should easily wipe away the dried on hair spray.

  3. Step 3

    Another way to remove the dried hair spray from your curling iron is by using any type of steel wool pad. Wet the pad and rub off the dried spray. If this doesn't work you can also try adding a touch of baking soda to the steel wool pad. With some water this should take the dried hair spray right off.

  4. Step 4

    ONCE AGAIN!!! MAKE SURE YOUR CURLING IRON HAS BEEN OFF FOR AT LEAST AN HOUR AND IS COOL TO THE TOUCH. ALSO MAKE SURE IT IS UNPLUGGED BEFORE DOING THESE STEPS! If this step is not done first you can be seriously hurt.
