Have you been wondering how to save money on Christmas this year because you have kids? It is not good to burden young children with financial crisis, although you may want to tell them when they are older and and your crisis is over. They will be happy that you made it through tough times without affecting their childhood.

Start planning now to have the best Christmas ever for your children and family.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

CHRISTMAS TREE - Buy a fake tree this Christmas. Fake trees will last seven to ten years. No one will know that it is fake after you have it decorated. You will always be the first one on your block to have your tree up each year. You will save hundreds of dollars by reusing a fake tree each year. It is also good for the environment since you are not cutting down a tree.

Buy your favorite tree because you will be looking at it for many years to come. Every time you put it up, it will remind you that you made it through these tough times.

  2. Step 2

GIFTS - Make gifts this year instead of purchasing gifts. This is a great idea if you have children because they love craft projects. You can weave a decoration on a door mat, make a candle or make your own soap.

You will save plenty of money making gifts for others that you will be able to buy your kids the thing that they want most. Find out what they want and buy them just one "big" gift from Santa. If it is really what they want, you won't need much else. You can also fill their stockings with things from the dollar store.

Knowing how to save money on Christmas with kids will help you to get through tough times.

  3. Step 3

CAROLING - Go Christmas caroling with family and friends. It is an inexpensive way to spend the evening with your children. You will not have the big expense associated with a Christmas party, yet you will enjoy the evening with your favorite people. Children love the idea of giving to others by singing.

If no one appears to be home, move on to the next house while caroling.

Make sure you plan ahead and invite as many people as possible, the large the group, the better the caroling. Bundle up because it is bound to be cold.
