Step 1
Eat small portions of a variety of foods several times a day (4 to 6 times a day is recommended). Drink a sufficient amount of water and include a lot of fruits and vegetables in your diet. Spicy foods and a cup of coffee a day have also been known to flush out the system and promote weight loss. Try cooking at home and avoiding fast foods at all time. Start out in the produce section of the store and stock up on vegetables before heading to the other areas in the store.

Exercise, even if it is just walking your dog around the block or walking to get your mail- every bit helps! This is where getting a pet that needs exercise too can be a great motivator to help lose weight. Try to jog, run or stay active in some way every day. If you work full time or have school, try to go hiking or ride your bike on the weekends- plan at least one major activity on the weekends. Also, cleaning your house or landscaping your yard can help keep you in shape too. Instead of watching tv, get outside and walk around the block! Also, try to avoid eating dinner within 3 to 4 hours before you go to bed. Remember, you should eat a large breakfast, moderately sized lunch and a small dinner in order to burn off all of the calories before going to bed.

LOVE yourself! It has been shown that people that are comfortable with their bodies have been known to shed the weight off a lot faster. Staying emotionally happy and healthy is also a major part of weight loss as well. Share your plan with your friends and encourage them to support you in reaching your weight loss goals!
