Step 1
Go to a beauty supply store like Sally's Beauty and buy a ceramic flat iron. A quality flat iron is going to cost you anywhere from $50-$200. They range greatly in price, I like the flat irons by Chi. The Chi irons are very professional and allow for higher temperature controls. The reason for the range in prices is due to the heat temperature controls. The hotter the iron burns, the costlier. Professional hair salons use the styling tools that have the highest heat settings to insure even the most unruly hair can be managed.

Step 2
While at Sally's Beauty Supply, shop for a heat protection spray like Nexus Heat Protexx. This spray strengthens hair and protects it against damage caused by heat. This hair products costs around $5- $6.

Step 3
Now, Let's get styling. Start off with freshly shampooed and conditioned hair. I would recommend a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner like Nexus Luxury shampoo and Humectress conditioner. Lightly towel dry hair and then apply the heat protection spray evenly throughout hair.
-
Step 4
Blow dry your hair first to get it dry and straight. After your hair is completely dry, part it in sections and get ready to apply the flat iron. You can add an added lightweight hairdressing or moisturizer to your hair once it dried.
-
Step 5
Run your flat iron through your hair beginning at the roots and extending to the tips. Take special caution to avoid burning your ears or skin. Flat irons get very hot and caution should always be taken.
-
Step 6
Work through each section of your hair until desired straightness is achieved. Do not rush or be impatient. Flat ironing takes a long time and it might be wise to recruit a friend or someone else to help you- especially if you have very long hair or very thick hair.

Step 7
You can complete your look by using a curling iron to add soft waves or curls, or you can just enjoy your newly bone-straight hair.
