Give Blue Cheese Balls as Gifts

My Mom is a world-class gift-giver, primarily known for her food gifts. Everybody we know wants to be on her gift list, and it is an especially happy occasion when she arrives at a party or event with a Blue Cheese Ball in hand.

Whether you make Blue Cheese Balls for a party, an event, or to give as a food gift, our family recipe will soon become a treasured classic in your recipe collection.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Blue Cheese Ball ingredients
  • Food processor
  • Medium bowl
  • Microwave oven
  • Wax paper
  • Cellophane
  1. Step 1

    Blue Cheese Ball Ingredients:

~ 1 pound sharp white cheddar cheese, shredded
~ 4 ounces good quality blue cheese, crumbled
~ 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
~ Small - medium onion, quartered
    ~ 1/4 cup mayonnaise
~ Several liberal shakes of Worcestershire sauce
~ 1 teaspoon fresh cracked pepper
    ~ 1 teaspoon garlic salt
    ~ Paprika

  2. Step 2

Place the sharp white cheddar cheese and the quartered onion into a food processor or blender. Mix together until thoroughly incorporated.

  3. Step 3

Transfer cheddar cheese and onion mixture into a medium bowl and add the softened cream cheese and the crumbled blue cheese. Blend well.

If necessary, microwave on the defrost setting for about 1 minute until mixture is softened enough to blend completely.

  4. Step 4

Add mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, cracked pepper and garlic salt. Use your hands to mix everything together until all the ingredients are evenly distributed.

Shape the Blue Cheese Balls into round ball shapes or log shapes. Place the balls or logs onto wax paper and let them rest and dry out a bit.

  5. Step 5

Generously sprinkle paprika on a fresh sheet of wax paper. Roll the Blue Cheese Ball in the paprika until completely covered. Wrap in each cheese ball in cellophane. Refrigerate overnight.

Serve the cheese ball with a variety of crackers, chips, breads, fresh vegetables and fruits.
