How to Make A Lighted Potpourri Mason Jar

The Holidays are coming faster than you know. You will have fun entertaining friends and family. Home decorations for Halloween,Thanksgiving ,Christmas are charming and homey. Pretty lights are always a big attraction too. Make a nice easy crafty potpourri mason jar. Homemade Crafts are a gift from the heart. They make wonderful gifts for friends or family.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Large mason jar
  • small Christmas light set
  • potpourri
  • gloves
  • drill
  • diamond drill bit
  1. Step 1

    Make a small round hole in the back of the jar with a drill and use a diamond bit. Be careful and wear work gloves while doing this.

  2. Step 2

    In the large mason jar put in a bag and a half of potpourri. Spread it around in a pleasing way. Don't forget,leave some room for the lights. Scented flowery potpourri is great for decoration and it makes the home smell so great.

  3. Step 3

    Take the Christmas lights either clear or colored and put them in the jar. Run the cord part that plugs in out the hole in the back.

  4. Step 4

    When the lights heat up the potpourri will give out it's wonderful scent. Leave the lid off to let out the aroma. Put the lid back on when your jar is not plugged in to help make the potpourii last longer.

Tips & Warnings
  • Put little small figures in to highlight Halloween,Thanksgiving or Christmas.
  • These make great Gifts!
  • Make more than one they are easy and fun!
  • Be careful not to leave on all night for safety

on 10/23/2009 I did this a few years ago. I did not make a hole in the jar. I let the wire come out the top, then I laid a nice crocheted doily on the jar top and secured it with a pretty ribbon. These are fun and pretty. thanks for the directions. 5 * , Cajun
