How to Rename a Web Bookmark

Did you save a bookmark, only to find that its name is something funky like "Pigsfeet.com, real tasty pickled pigs feet for you and me"? It's easy to change it.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet Access
  • Internet Explorer
  • Netscape Navigator
  • Netscape Navigator
  • Internet Explorer

  1. Step 1

    Open the Favorites menu and choose Organize Favorites.

  2. Step 2

    Select the item you want to rename.

  3. Step 3

    Click Rename.

  4. Step 4

    Type in the new name over the old one.

  5. Step 5

    Click Close.

  6. Netscape Navigator

  7. Step 1

    Open the Bookmarks menu and choose Go to Bookmarks.

  8. Step 2

    Click on Item.

  9. Step 3

    Choose Properties in the pop-up menu.

  10. Step 4

    Click on the site name you want to change.

  11. Step 5

    Type in the new name over the old one.

  12. Step 6

    Click OK.

Tips & Warnings
  • Rename a long site to something short and to the point.
  • Press Ctrl+B on your keyboard for a shortcut to the box where you rename bookmarks.
