Things You'll Need
- Distilled vinegar
- Laundry detergent
- Fabric softener sheets
- Water
- Washing machine
- Cleaning rags
- Dryer or airy space

Put garments or clothing that smell like mothballs in a washing machine. Add the appropriate amount of laundry detergent and one cup of distilled vinegar in the liquid detergent dispenser. Wash as usual and repeat, if necessary.

Place garments in dryer with fabric softner sheets and dry on high. You can also hang dry the garments outside or in an airy part of your home.

Wipe down closets, drawers or other storage units with mothball odor using one-half cup of vinegar diluted in two cups of water.

Place fabric softener sheets in storage unit. Let them sit for 48 hours.
