How to Delete a Web Bookmark

You've decided you don't want that Web page in your list of favorites anymore - maybe the link is bad. Don't worry, it's as easy to delete it as it was to save it in the first place.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Modems
  • Internet Access
  • Web Browsers
  1. Step 1

    If you have Internet Explorer, click the Favorites button on the toolbar or open the Favorites menu and choose Organize Favorites.

  2. Step 2

    Right-click on the file you want to delete, then click Delete in the menu that appears.

  3. Step 3

    Click the Yes button when it asks if you're sure you want to send the file to the Recycle Bin.

  4. Step 4

    If you have Netscape Navigator, select the Go to Bookmarks command from the Bookmarks menu.

  5. Step 5

    Right-click the file you want to delete.

  6. Step 6

    Choose Delete from the drop-down menu.

Tips & Warnings
  • In Netscape Navigator, if you decide you didn't really want to delete the file, and you haven't performed any other actions in the program since deleting it, you can open the Edit menu and select Undo.
  • In Internet Explorer, the only way to undo a deletion is to open the Recycle Bin on the desktop. Right-click the file you want, then choose Restore from the menu that appears. (You can also do this if you can't use the Undo command in Navigator.)
