The Exilim product line is a series of compact digital cameras designed and manufactured by Casio. The cameras are small, portable and are popular among amateur photographs who simply want a point-and-shoot experience. However, even the best digital camera can experience problems. Learn how to troubleshoot your Casio Exilim camera so you can get back to capturing the world around you.

Verify that the Exilim camera is turned on and in the right capture mode. Press and hold the power button on the top right-hand side of the device until the small power button becomes illuminated and the LCD screen on the back turns on. Check the mode dial near the camera's viewfinder and make sure it is turned so that the small arrow is pointing at the camera-shaped icon.
Make sure the camera's rechargeable lithium ion battery is charged if the camera is slow to respond, does not turn on, shuts down suddenly or displays a flashing battery icon on its screen. Remove the battery by sliding open the slot on the bottom of the Exilim camera. Insert into the Casio charger unit and plug the unit into an electrical outlet. It typically takes up to three hours to fully charge the battery. Remove from the charger and reinsert into the Exilim camera before resuming use.
Check that the Exilim camera's memory storage is not full. This may cause you to lose data or not be able to take new pictures. Connect the camera to your computer using its included Exilim USB cable. Transfer the pictures stored on the camera's memory to your computer to free up space on the device's memory card.
Wipe down the camera's lens with a soft lens cloth, or a cloth intended for prescription eyeglasses. Dust, debris and moisture can build up on the Exilim's lens or viewfinder and cause reduced image quality or strange marks on pictures.
