Instructions

    • 1

Ask your customer what type of look she wants out of her makeup. It might be an everyday look; an easy and quick-to-apply look; a complete day-to-night look; a classic, timely and stunning look. Use the foundation flip card to find her match. If she expresses interest in concealer, put a little on the back of her hand blending it in to find the correct cover-up tone.

Use a color card to apply facial makeup. Colors are six different shades based on a color curve from reds to chocolates. Beginning with cheeks, apply blush to the apple area of her cheeks (revealed when she smiles broadly). Don't forget to show her bronzers, an alternative to blush when creating an everyday look.

    • 3

Apply eye shadow, using one of the three looks suggested on the color card. Remember, if she does not like the look she has chosen, the oil-free eye makeup remover is available.

    • 4

Apply eyeliner to the rim of her eyelids. Suggest more than just black eyeliner. Other colors might enhance the overall look and intensify her eyes.

    • 5

Apply mascara inside her lashes in an upward motion, then outside from the root of lashes to the ends.

    • 6

Apply lips color. Use the suggested color card lipstick. Remember that Mary Kay sells a variety of different lip color options, from lip glosses to tinted lip balms, so do not be afraid to play.

    • 7

Now that you have applied her entire makeup, take a photo of her with a digital camera. Upload this photo to your preferred customer profiles online to help you remember what products she used and how they looked on her.

Tips & Warnings

  • Bring along the latest issue of "The Look," and make mention that you have circled products she might like to try. Be sure the products your customer purchased at the skin care party (or one on one) are working with her skin. Remember to add your customer to the preferred customer program, and tell her that you will be following up with her in two weeks to make sure she is enjoying her makeup.
