Instructions

Determine the width of the fabric you need. Measure the chair a couple of inches from the bottom of the seat up and across the seat and down a couple of inches past the bottom on the other side. Determine the length of the fabric by measuring from the back of the chair all the way up and then down to the seat. Finish by going all the way down the front edge of the chair. Add an extra yard to your fabric amount for hemming and tucking.

Buy the necessary length of fabric. Choose a mid-weight fabric. You want it to drape nicely, but also to be durable.

    • 3

Sew two lengths together if necessary to provide for the entire width of the chair depending on the width of the fabric you purchased. If you bought the standard 45-inch width fabric, you will need to double the width to cover the entire chair. The seam will fit down the middle of the chair once the slipcover is complete.

Turn under the edges of the fabric 1-inch. Pin in place and hem around all sides of the fabric. Use an iron to press out the hem seams any wrinkles in the fabric.

    • 5

Drape the fabric over the chair. Tuck the fabric in between the wings and the seat cushion to complete the slipcover.
