How to Make a Kingston Flash Drive Work With Vista
Kingston flash drives are USB-powered portable storage devices. They are small and allow you to transfer files from one computer to another. They come in a variety of memory sizes, including 512MB, 2GB and 4GB. Using them on a Windows Vista computer is just as easy as using them on other supported operating systems. If you are running into problems, there are some basic troubleshooting steps to solve connection problems with USB ports.

1
Connect your Kingston USB flash drive into an open USB port on your Windows Vista computer. Your computer should automatically recognize it as a removal device. If the flash drive is not recognized, restart your computer to reset the USB ports. Reconnect the flash drive.

2
Disconnect other devices connected to USB ports if you are still having connection problems. Sometimes too many USB devices cause communication errors. Try connecting the Kingston flash drive to another USB port and wait for your computer to recognize it.

5
Drag a file from the flash drive window to a location on your computer to copy it there. When you are done with the file transfers, close the flash drive window.
