Rotella's Italian Bakery Omaha NE

In the day's of the Depression my mother told me that white bread was more of luxury for her. She thought she was getting a treat just eating mayonnaise sandwiches. I call them Mayonnaise Sammages.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Your favorite mayonnaise
  • Your favorite bread
  • seasonings you would like to add to your mayonnaise.(optional)
  • table knife
  • a pretty plate (optional)
  1. Step 1

Select your favorite Bread I personally choose the flavor of the Rotella's Italian bread. I like the flavor of their white bread.

  2. Step 2

Make sure you are buying real mayonnaise not salad dressing. I like Hellmann's Mayonnaise and Kraft Mayonnaise. You can make your own mayonnaise; I don't because I understand that homemade mayonnaise uses raw eggs. Store bought mayonnaise is pasteurized to prevent spoilage. You can pasteurize your eggs yourself but for the sake of easy preparation using store bought mayonnaise will be simple.

  3. Step 3

You may want to add some extra flavors to your mayonnaise like garlic and pepper use what ever suits your taste. I use just the mayonnaise on white bread. I just place my bread on a pretty plate, spread the mayonnaise on it, slap the two pieces together and enjoy.

Tips & Warnings
  • eat these sandwiches in moderation they can cause weight gain.
