When you need to escape to an Island paradise the Ultimate Top Shelf Margarita fits the bill. This Margarita goes down easy and will let you put all your cares aside. Mix up a large batch of these tasty margaritas, turn on a Jimmy Buffett or Bob Marley CD, and you are ready for your tropical "vacation" to begin.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Margarita Glass
  • Lime Wedges
  • Coarse Salt
  • Ice
  • 4 ounces Simply Lime Limeade
  • 2 ounces Simply Orange Juice
  • 3 ounces of gold patron tequila (good brand)
  • 1 ounce of Cointreau (orange liquor)
  1. Step 1

Take cut lime wedge and rub along rim of margarita glass. Pour coarse salt onto a plate, then dip wet rim into the coarse salt.

  2. Step 2

Fill Margarita glass 1/2 to 3/4 full of ice. Add limeade, orange juice and tequila to glass, then stir until well blended.

  3. Step 3

Add Cointreau to glass and gently stir.

  4. Step 4

Squeeze juice from one lime wedge into glass. Garnish side of glass with lime.

  5. Step 5

The Top Shelf Margarita is ready for you to enjoy. Repeat steps 1 through 4 as necessary or until you have escaped to your tropical paradise.

Tips & Warnings
  • 2 ounces equal one shot.
  • For a tarter cocktail, add additional lime.
  • For blended margaritas the entire mixture can be added to a blender and mixed.
  • For a party mix all ingredients except ice and Cointreau in a pitcher. When guests arrive, just pour the mix over the ice in glasses and top with Cointreau.
  • The tartness of a Top Shelf Margaritas pairs well with spicy food.
  • The Top Shelf Margarita goes down easy. Make sure to have a designated driver for your guests.
