How to Transfer Outlook Contacts To Palm Pre
If you are looking to import or transfer your Outlook contacts to a Palm Pre, follow these steps.
Using a variation of one of these steps, you can also use this tutorial to transfer contacts from other places such as a Mac's address book.

First, in order to transfer contacts to your Palm Pre from Outlook or another source you will need the Palm Data Transfer Assistant. This is a free program available for download from Palm's website. The link is located in the resource section below.
At the site, you will need to select where the data you wish to transfer "lives". If you wish to import Outlook contacts to the Palm Pre, select "Outlook".

Next, install and open the Palm Data Transfer assistant software on your computer.

Next, install and open the software.

As the program will ask you to do, connect the Palm Pre to the computer using the USB cable that came with the Pre.

Once the Palm Pre is connected to your computer, it will ask if you want to do a "Media Sync", "USB Drive", or "Charge". Select "USB Drive" to begin the process of importing the Outlook contacts to the Data Transfer Assistant.

The Outlook contact transfer will begin and you will see a progress bar on the screen. Outlook may prompt you with a message notifying you that a program is attempting to access it's data. Say "Yes" and allow the transfer to occur.

After the transfer, you will be asked to select where you would like the transferred data (contacts) to be stored. Select the option that makes the most sense for you.
Using the Google or Microsoft Exchange option allows you to access your contacts remotely from the web. The Palm Profile is merely a backup and does not allow Palm Synergy remote syncing.

Once you have selected where to store the data, a screen with a "Transfer Now" button will appear to allow you to transfer contacts to your Palm Pre.
