How to Treat Hangnails
Hangnails can be found on finger and toes. They are small, dry, sharp pieces of skin that are usually painful. Hangnails get caught on clothing, pantyhose and socks which causes irritation and pain. There are a few way to treat hangnails. Does this Spark an idea?

Soak your hangnails in salt water. Dissolve about 2 teaspoons of salt in a very warm cup of water. Stick your finger or fingers in the salt water for 15 to 20 minutes. If the hangnails are on your toes dissolve about ¼ of a cup of salt in a basin of water and soak your toes. Pat your feet or hands dry and carefully trim the hangnail. Use care not to rip the hangnail off which can cause more pain and possible infection.

Rub olive oil into your hangnails to soften the skin and make your hangnails much less painful.

Soak your hangnails in apple cider vinegar and water. Mix equal amounts of very warm water and apple cider vinegar in a basin, bowl or cup and soak hangnails for about 15 to 20 minutes.

Put a little honey on your hangnail. Honey will soften a hangnail and help to heal it. Honey will also keep a hangnail from becoming infected.

Dab your hangnails with a little isopropyl alcohol. The alcohol will dry out the hangnail and cause it to fall off.
