When designing an event ticket, there are several things to consider. Your event ticket must contain enough information for ticket holders to understand where to go and exactly how much they paid for their ticket. Your tickets should be printed in clear and legible writing and without a whole lot of extra "flair" that can make the ticket confusing.

Things You'll Need:

  • Pencil
  • Pen
  • Computer
  1. Step 1

Write down all the necessary event information for yourself so it is in a clear and concise form. Make sure you include the name and address of the venue, the price of the ticket, the event name, event's start time and assigned seat, if necessary.

  2. Step 2

Design a ticket on a piece of paper. Most tickets will be rectangular with the information printed clearly on it. You can also use websites, like the one in Resources 1, for a template to write in or type in your information.

  3. Step 3

Plug in the event information. Experiment with different placing of the information, either by hand or on the computer. Play with it until it looks good to you and you feel the information can be read.

  4. Step 4

Think about the back of the ticket. Can you offer any special discounts or deal in association with a company that may be sponsoring the event? You can also think about adding things like quick or fun facts about your event or venue.

  5. Step 5

Decide what color to make the ticket. White tickets are the cheapest to print, but brighter colors may make them easier to spot for ticket holders inside their wallets or if they place them somewhere in their home. If you choose to use a background image, make sure the font you've decided to use for the tickets will show up against it and your information will not be lost.

  6. Step 6

Print your tickets and make copies. To save paper, print as many as will fit on a piece of paper and use scissors or a paper cutter to cut them to size.
