How to become a pickup artist (PUA)
Pickup artist is becoming the new vogue word among guys who love to pickup women. Being a pickup artist is fostered from what many like to call the seduction community. Basically it's just a way for guys to learn how to be better with women who previously had little if any success. Reality tv is picking up the trend and even ABC did an expose on being a pickup artist. With that said, being a pickup artist isn't simply going into a bar and hitting on women. You won't become Don Juan or the newest Rico Suave by memorizing some lame lines. Being a PUA isn't about being a player either. It's simply about having the skills and confidence to talk to women. May sound simple, but truly that is it in a nutshell.

If you are really serious about becoming a PUA, you will need to develop not only your outer self, but more importantly your inner self. I can't stress enough that becoming a great PUA is a craft. It is not a quick cram session or magic trick. Think of it like a golf swing. You can hire an instructor to teach you the basics and sure you can go play a round, but there is so much more practice that you'll need if you want to become good. That's how you need to approach becoming a pickup artist. Becoming a PUA will create a lot more for you personally than just getting women. It'll create a different presence about you. The confidence and aura you will bestow will be drastically different. Friends, coworkers and family members will comment on the new you. Enjoy the process as much as you enjoy the result. A newer and better you is about to be realized.

Before you can master the craft of becoming a PUA, you need to define what you're looking for. You've got to be 100% honest with yourself and your desires. Are you looking for marriage or as much casual sex as possible? Women are very smart and can pick up quickly what your ulterior motive is. Many women are ok with you wanting casual sex. They just don't want to look too easy and admit it up front. If your goal is marriage or a long term relationship, your approaches and even the locations you are going to look will be quite different. You can have the best GPS system created, but if you don't have a destination it does you not good. Decide what you want.

What I'm about to say is going to go against most thinking you've ever been taught. From your early days of locker room guy talk to the college bar scene, you've always thought that looks were paramount to getting the girl. This fact is hogwash for the most part. Confidence and personality will open many more doors for you than a pretty face. Ask 100 women who they'd rather have, Brad Pitt or Adam Sandler. At least 90 would chose Adam Sandler. You have to drill that into your head before you go any further. Confidence is the master key to the lock.

Ok, so you tell me I need to have confidence but how do I get it? Think back to those times when you buy a really nice shirt, some new jeans or a really nice pair of shoes. You're still yourself, but you have a little more bounce to your step and just feel better all together. That's how simple building confidence can be. Becoming a PUA will require you to buy 1 outfit for going out. One nice button up shirt. A nice pair of designer jeans and a nice pair of leather shoes. Yes you'll spend more than maybe you're used to, but quality last longer and women notice the difference. Don't kid yourself gentlemen. Old Navy or Levis isn't the wardrobe a PUA will be wearing. Some places to look are Nordstrom, Macys, Bloomingdale, Saks and Express. Your sense of style isn't in tune with what women find sexy, so either take an attractive women you trust, or find the most beautiful sales woman at the store and ask for her help. Women love dressing a guy up and if you tell her you're looking to impress women with your new style she'll take a keen interest in the job. Get that wardrobe in shape and after you're done shopping, get a good haircut. Nothing sloppy for a PUA.

Before you become a pickup artist you're classified as an AFC(Average Frustrated Chump). As an AFC aspiring to be a PUA, you need to surround yourself with as many other PUAs as possible. If you know of a guy that is good with women or is just a natural at attracting ladies, stick to him like glue. Soak up as much from him as you possibly can. I'm a big gym rat and if I ever help out or pick up a new lifting partner, they always make drastic improvements. Why is that? A brand new lifter gets to learn from me and I'm there to help him along the way and point out his weaknesses. That's what an AFC should be searching for. Someone to soak up knowledge from and someone who will point out his weaknesses. There are also many online forums that any aspiring PUA should definitely check out. Remember, this is a craft you're intending to master. Take it seriously and success will follow.

Learning happens in the field. The field is wherever you chose to go sarging for women(Sarging means looking for women). Success will not be immediate, and failure is fine. It's all a learning experience. Attraction isn't a choice so don't take it to heart if you get shot down. There's plenty more out there to chose from. Memorize 3 openers that you will use out sarging to talk to women and get their attention. These ARE NOT pick-up lines. Pick-up lines are corny, cliche and do not work. Look online for some good openers if you need help. I've included a few pua/seduction websites to improve your skills in the resources section. A few things I want to talk about are what to do when you decide to talk to a woman or a group of woman. A good PUA almost always goes to a group and not the single woman by herself. Win the friends, win the woman. Keep that in your mind forever and ever. Win the friends, win the woman. Without their consent she will not be comfortable with you, and they will not let her leave their sight with you. Remember the golden rule. A PUA is a gentleman first and foremost.

If in a club/bar or busy establishment, the ultimate goal of a PUA is to separate the woman of interest to a place where you two can talk. Whether it's another side of the club or outside, you want to move her so you two are alone. This allows you to have her to yourself and lets the communication process unfold. Remember, communication is not always verbal. Visual connection between the two of you and touch are just as important to her reaching a comfort level and letting her wall down. Women are all built with a force field which is meant to protect them from jerks or players. PUAs are not players. Even if your ultimate goal is just sex or a casual relationship, you are not a player. Players are creeps and unrefined. Kissing is most certainly allowed, but you're not there to shoot a porno or make her feel uncomfortable at all. You holding back your urges shows a lot of discipline to her and allows her trust level for you to get stronger. At the end, a phone number or email is success. Have her give you hers. Wait 24 hours to call. Keep your memory fresh in her mind and go from there Mr. PUA. The balls in your court.

Tips & Warnings
I could write a book about tips, technique and personal views on becoming a good PUA. The most important concept that any inspiring PUA must understand is to practice, practice, practice. Practice until your opener's and communication with women becomes second nature. Make sarging fun and don't set specific goals. Failure will be a great teacher in the end. And remember to always smile. You never know what magnificent woman is looking.
