Step 1
Wash your face thouroughly with an appropriate facial cleanser or acne cream after wearing make-up.Never go to bed with make-up on. No matter how long you worked or how fast you need to get into the bed, this is the number one rule that will keep your complexion smooth and free from facial acne. Wearing make-up to bed, as dermatologist suggest, clogs your pores which can later turn into ugly breakouts.

Step 2
On those extra busy nights when you are just too tired to wash your face with a good makeup remover and cleanser, whip out make-up remover towellets like Cover Girl Make-Up cleansers.
Don't use too many harsh facial cleaners on your face, including grainy scrubs and Microdermabrasion kits, because the constant scouring can cause redness and irritation as it strips away too many of the natural oils that give your skin a healthy glow.
Exfoliating your skin can do more damage than good if it is done too often. This can unfortunately make your skin susceptible to sun damage and premature wrinkles. If you have normal ph balanced skin, then you needn't exfoliate more than once a week. If you have oily skin that is prone to break outs, then twice a week is good enough. If the product burns or tingles too much, rinse immediately (as your skin may be too sensitive to that particular facial product). -
Step 3
Blueberries are great antioxidents for healthy skin.Eat the right foods and drink more water. Don't go on crazy diets that make you feel as if you are starving as you can be losing out on valuable vitamins and minerals that keep skin clear. Get more omega 3 and biotin in your diet as it is critical for clear skin. Eat more whole grain foods, limit processed and greasy foods. Fresh fruit packed in antioxidants like blueberries and veggies like spinach can aid in helping your skin fight off premature aging.
-
Step 4
Stop smoking. It is not only bad for you lungs and overall health, but horrible on the skin too. Smoking decreases oxygen flow which in turn, increases rogue molecules that bring on wrinkles and shallowness in the skin. Also, get the proper amount of sleep. Aim for at least 6-8 hrs. per night to decrease puffiness and dark circles around the eyes.
-
Step 5
Invest in quality skin products that are specific to your needs. Have a dermatologist or cosmetic counter specialist help you find the product that will work best for your skin type.
