Social Media websites are a favorite place to start! Check every social media website you can think of. www.Facebook.com, www.myspace.com for social websites and www.linkedIn.com for the business world are all great places to start your search. I have found old students, elementary friends and old neighbors just by being registered on these sites.

The next step is a little obvious but some people are unaware that you can simply type the person's name into www.google.com or www.yahoo.com and some people's blogs or websites will be listed. This works especially if the person you are looking for blogs or has an online business. There is even a site on Google that lists blogs--http://blogsearch.google.ca/?hl=en&tab=wb.

If you attended college with the person or was in a sorority/fraternity, their respective alumni associations also publish directories with people's email addresses. If one knows the company a person works for, sometimes companies list emails for customer service.

There are several websites devoted to finding emails, but be very careful there isn't a charge involved. Whitepages.com lists reverse telephone lookup. Myfreeemailsearch.com,www.zabasearch.com and www.piplsearch.com are all different websites to research and see if you can find your friend.
