My DIY Save the Dates for less than $20!
My DIY Save the Dates for less than $20!

Small Wedding Budget? Pinch pennies where you can and make your own save the dates!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Scrapbook paper (whatever color or pattern you choose)
  • Decorative Edge Scissors
  • Paint Pen
  • Sharpee
  • Glue
  • Computer/Printer
  1. Step 1

First, go to a craft store like Michaels and buy your supplies. My paper, the leaves, was 0.20cents a sheet, the scissors for the decorative edge were $4.99 and the paint pen was $5.99 and my color-coordinating envelopes were $2.99 for a 20pk (I bought 1 red pk and 1 yellow pk
Depending on the size you want depends on how many sheets you buy. I wanted smaller ones, so I fit 4 on one sheet.

  2. Step 2

Design your wording on the computer. I did the Save the Date...etc on the computer and left enough space at the top for me to draw the date in myself.
If you do it in a "text box" in Word, you can copy and paste the whole box up to 6x on one sheet.

  3. Step 3

Next, print them out and get all your supplies together.
Cut out the little boxes and then measure how big you want the decorative paper to be for the border. Cut the piece out, then center the computer print out in the middle and glue it down.

  4. Step 4

Use the decorative scissors to cut out the edge.
Stuff them in envelopes, address, stamp and mail!

Tips & Warnings
  • The smaller the save the dates, the more you can fit per page, the cheaper your overall cost will be!
