Things You'll Need:
- access to the internet
- desire to reduce your carbon footprint
-
Step 1
Ask the hotel or restaurant where the shower will be held if they run their business with a green perspective. Questions you can ask are: are only linens used for tablecloths and napkins? Do they use any paper or plastic goods at all for the table settings? Do they use fair trade chocolate and coffee for the dessert?
-
Step 2
Look at shower venues such as eco-friendly day spas, pottery painting shops, and botanical gardens or parks.
-
Step 3
Make sure the invitations are green. Use only internet invites via Evite.com. If traditional bridal shower invitations are desires, make sure they are printed on recyclable paper.
-
Step 4
Ask for the guests to bring the gifts without wrapping paper or cards. This will cut down on the amount of waste generated by the party. Let the bride know who gave her the gift by attaching a small tag to the present with a note.

on 9/17/2009 I work in a Modern Arts Museum part-time and ecology is the word there. I've been green for a pretty good while but much greener now and this article is so nice. 5* and a recommendation. Jswana
