Connecting a VCR to a digital TV converter (DTV box) requires two coaxial cables, which are equipped with threaded jacks on both sides. Once the DTV box is connected to your VCR, and the VCR to your TV, you'll be able to watch and record digital programming using your VCR.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Disconnect all equipment from the power supply.

  2. Step 2

Attach a coaxial cable to the output jack on the DTV box. The box may be printed with the words "Out to TV" above or below the jack.

  3. Step 3

Insert the wire pin in the end of the coaxial cable into the box on the DTV jack and turn the outer metal ring clockwise to secure the cable.

  4. Step 4

Connect the other end of the cable to the "Video In jack" on the back of your VCR.

  5. Step 5

Connect a second coaxial cable to the "Video Out" jack of your VCR.

  6. Step 6

Connect the other end of the second cable to the back of your television's "Video In" jack.

  7. Step 7

Power up your components and set the TV to either channel 3 or 4, depending on which channel you use for the DTV converter, then set the VCR to the same channel.
