Running or power walking is just one fun way to exercise with a friend

Whether you are exercising to lose weight or to stay fit, it's always easier to exercise with a friend. You can motivate it each and push each other a little harder than he or she would have been able to do by him/herself. There are even some fun ways to exercise with a friend that will make working out fun.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Run or power walk together.

Run and catch up at the same time. Talking and walking has to be one of the funnest ways to exercise with a friend because you are multitasking and connecting and losing weight all at the same time. Plus, the distraction of talking will allow you to walk or run further than you thought possible.

  2. Step 2

Use a treadmill, elliptical, or bike next to your friend. Cover both displays with a towel after you set in a certain amount of time. Guess how many calories the other will burn in that time frame. At the end, reveal your display. The person who comes closest wins a Gatorade.

  3. Step 3

Get into pushup position with your friend in the same position facing you. Lift one arm and give each other a high five. Alternate arms as many times as you can without dropping from the push up position. Each week, aim for more high fives.

  4. Step 4

Lie on the floor with your arms stretched behind your head. Knees bent. Hold a four pound medicine ball. Keep arms straight. Curl up and toss the ball to your friend who is in the same position ten feet away. Your friend will catch the ball, lower herself down to the floor, curl up and toss it back to you. The first to miss gets an R. The loser is the first to spell out RAT and has to buy an energy bar.
