If you are like me, and have to write academic papers, the new settings on Microsoft Word are probably driving you insane. Who in the world uses Size 11, Calibri font? If you are sick of changing the settings every time you need to write a paper, this article will be your best friend.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Microsoft Word 2007
  • Fingers
  • Eyes help
  1. Step 1

    Open a blank Word document.

  2. Step 2

Along the tool bar on top, you should see six boxes on the right side of the tool bar. Each box says "AaBbCc." Right click on the left-most box. You should get a list of option. Click on "Modify." A new options box should pop up labeled "Modify Style"

  3. Step 3

There should be a line that says "Style for following paragraph." Make that box is set to "No Spacing."

  4. Step 4

Next underneath the heading "Formatting" you should see a place where you can change the Font type and size. Change them to Times New Roman size 12. If you want to get change the document to single-spaced, you do it here as well. There should be a chunk of writing that says "Sample text Sample Text" over and over. Right above that, there are three buttons that have three horizontal lines on them. Click the button that has the three lines closest together.

You screen should look just like the picture (you can make the picture bigger by clicking on it). If it does, click "OK"

  6. Step 6

Now you have to repeat steps 2-5 only instead of clicking the Left-Most "AaBbCc" box, you have to right click the box directly to the right of it. Once you repeat the same steps with that box, all of your documents should open with Times New Roman, 12 font.
