Before you begin to select the right kitchen faucet it is good to
learn the language of plumbing suppliers and manufactures. They have a language of their own sometime their name for something is not the same as what others might call it.

Here are a few basic steps to get you started selecting your next kitchen
faucet.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1
    Modern Faucet

know the amount of holes available in the sink. This will tell you how many pieces your sink can handle and the faucet configuration. If you already have the sink, does the sink have three mounting holes, or one mounting hole? Do you want a sprayer, does the sink have a mounting hole for a sprayer?

  2. Step 2

Know what type of handle you prefer, would you prefer lever handles that requires applying pressure, or would you prefer handle knobs that requires turning, can you turn knobs?

  3. Step 3
    One Handle Faucet

Check how the faucet turns off. Faucets have valves that allow the water to flow or stop. This valve determines how hard or easy it is to turn the handle.

  4. Step 4

Find out about how the hot and cold water is controlled, separately (two handles), or with a single control (one handle).

  5. Step 5

Make sure you have what you need for the installation, (a female fitting, threads that are on the interior), or a male fitting, (threads that are on the exterior). Another fitting is iron pipe or IPS. You will need supply lines, some manufactures sell parts separately so the buyer can mix and match their colors to suit their taste.

  6. Step 6
