Step 1
**Check whether the baby is hungry.
This is probably the most likely cause of the baby's crying. It is completely understandable. Adults get fuzzy when they are hungry. Why wouldn't a baby go crazy when its tummy is empty. Food is one of the few pleasure that a baby knows in its short life. So try feeding the baby first. -
Step 2
** Check if the baby needs a diaper change
What is worse than being wrapped around in a diaper? Being wrapped around in a dirty diaper! Change the diaper regularly. At least check it out constantly. It may as well be the reason for the crying. -
Step 3
** Check to see anything is causing discomfort for the baby.
If the baby is not hungry and does not have soiled diaper, then check to see if there are other causes of discomfort for the baby. For example, is the temperature too high or too low? How about the clothing? Is the baby comfortably lying on the bed or crib? Is there little toy piece that is stuck somewhere? -
Step 4
** Check if your baby is colicky.
If you are one of the unlucky parents who have a colicky baby, then try the following methods. Use one of the readily available baby tools such as baby swing and bouncy seat. If you are going out or travelling, try us front carrier or baby sling. All these tools can help calm the baby down. Maintain some "background noise" by turning the radio on (but not set a proper channel) or leaving a purifier or fan on.
