how to fire roast red peppers

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • red peppers
  • range stove top
  • wood stove (optional)
  1. Step 1

Upon purchasing red peppers make sure hat there are no blemishes and the pepper is firm.

  2. Step 2

wash the red pepper and towel dry.

  3. Step 3

Turn on the flame to your stove top range to high.

  4. Step 4

Set the red pepper on top of the open flame. You must have a range stove top and ceramic one will not do.

  5. Step 5

Let the red pepper turn black and turn the re pepper until most of the red pepper has turned black.

  6. Step 6

Once the whole red pepper has turned black ( this should take approximately five minutes)turn off the flame and with tongs carefully remove the red pepper from the stove top.

  7. Step 7

Place the pepper on a plate and let it cool to the touch.

  8. Step 8

Once the red pepper has completely cooled slice the red pepper into diagonally strips. Use your own judgment as to how thick you want the strips to be.

  9. Step 9

Take a knife and gently scrape off the black on the red pepper making sure that there pepper is still intact. I like to leave a small portion of the black on my red pepper.

  10. Step 10

Serve your quick fire roasted red peppers with a green garden salad or serve on top of slices of warm garlic or Italian bread.

  11. Step 11

    Now wasn't that easy? Enjoy
