Pierce ears with an ear piercing gun

Want to pierce ears with an ear piercing gun? Piercing ears with a piercing gun is most certainly easier than piercing ears with a piercing needle. It's also less painful, though you'll need to buy an ear piercing gun at the store if you don't already have one. Nevertheless, piercing guns are most certainly a lot cheaper than if you were to get your ears professionally pierced. If pierced correctly, your ears won't get any ear infections as well. However, think about your decision carefully to make absolute sure that you don't want to get your ears professionally pierced. This method is designed to only pierce your earlobes.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Ear piercing gun
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Non iodized sea salt
  • Starter earring
  • Latex gloves (optional)
  • Surgical marking pen (optional)
  1. Step 1

Like I mentioned in my previous article, it's always good to get a friend or family member to pierce your ears for you rather than using the ear piercing gun yourself. You may find it to be quicker with someone else piercing your ears, and a friend or family member is less likely to be hesitant when they pierce ears with the ear piercing gun.

  2. Step 2

Prepare to pierce ears by making a solution of non iodized sea salt and warm water in a cup. You can buy the non iodized sea salt at a local grocery store. Make the solution by mixing 1/8 teaspoons of non iodized sea salt and 8 ounces of warm water together. This solution will be used after you pierce ears with the ear piercing gun to clean them.

  3. Step 3

Further prepare to pierce ears with the ear piercing gun by washing your hands thoroughly in warm water and soap to get rid of bacteria. You may also want to wear latex gloves. Don't forget to put some rubbing alcohol in a napkin or cotton swab and rub your ear (both front and back) with it to lower the chances of an infection before you use the ear piercing gun.

  4. Step 4

Mark the spot where you intend to pierce your ear (surgical marking pen is preferred) and load the disposable needle as well as the starter stud into the ear piercing gun you'll be using to pierce ears. Follow the owner's manual as directed.

  5. Step 5

Now you're ready to pierce ears! Center the disposable needle's tip of the ear piercing gun at the marked spot where you intend to pierce your ears. Pull the trigger on the ear piercing gun quickly to insure a clean penetration.

  6. Step 6

Remember the non iodized sea salt solution you created earlier? After you pierce ears with the ear piercing gun, you'll need to clean your ears twice daily with the solution to prevent infections. You'll also need to keep the starter earrings in your ears for a few months so that your ears can heal. You're all done!

Tips & Warnings
  • Pierce ears quickly with the ear piercing gun in order to insure a clean penetration.
  • Don't use a pen or pencil to mark the spot where you intend to pierce your ears to prevent ink or lead poisoning.
