I will show you simple steps to install any D-link wireless router. This information can be used for the installation for almost any wired/wireless router. You would learn step by step to install your router properly.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet Service Modem
  • Installation CD
  1. Step 1

    Shutdown your computer and disconnect your internet modem. Unplug the internet modem's ethernet cable from your network adapter (or if your ethernet adapter is embedded on the motherboard)on your computer.

  2. Step 2

    Take the ethernet cable you disconnected from your computer and put it into the wireless router that is marked "Internet."

  3. Step 3

    Plug in the ethernet cable into the wireless router that is marked "1." Now take the other end of the ethernet cable and plug it into your computer's newtork adapter.

  4. Step 4

    Turn the power on for your wireless router and computer. Install the CD for the wireless router, follow the instructions and enjoy! The installation CD also have some interesting features for your wireless router.

Tips & Warnings
  • Distant your wireless router from your internet modem by a 2-3 feet.
  • Protect your wireless network by adding a password.
  • Cat-5 Ethernet cable is recommended. Cat-6 is optional.
  • You can add your printer to your wireless router if its compatible.
  • You can also add a media server, other pc's/laptops, PS3, Xbox360
